We claim to be the first to introduce translucent stone into the UK market and our installations can be traced back to thirty years ago with one of our first installations for the Dorchester Hotel in central London & since this we have supplied thousands of translucent stone installations around the World.
We use onyx and other exotic natural stones for a wide variety of applications and continue to be at the forefront & development of using natural stone in ways that were previously thought to be impossible.
The process
Begins with the stone material itself usually 2cm slabs which is fused to a translucent honeycomb to both faces, which adds exceptional strength to the otherwise fragile material.
The 2cm slab is then sliced through the face resulting in two slabs each with a 5mm stone veneer, which is then calibrated & polished.

- Prices of natural onyx have risen exponentially over the last 10 years with many of these prized and sought after natural stones originating from countries such as Syria, Iran, Pakistan. Our process offers the opportunity of doubling the output without doubling the cost.
- The veneering process reduces the weight by around 70% compared to 2cm slabs weight 60 kilo per square metre!
- The veneering process adds considerable strength to the otherwise fragile natural stone with an impact strength 100 times greater than 2cm onyx slabs

The 5mm veneering process provides greater opportunities for backlighting the stone & enhances the inherent translucency of onyx and quartz to another level.

Stone is widely acknowledged as one of the World’s most luxurious natural materials providing the beauty that only natural stone can offer. However, it is not without its drawbacks:
- It is expensive.
- It is fragile.

- It is heavy at around 60 kilo per square metre.

Initial discussion would involve budget and researching the market to locate materials that provide the desired appearance and can provide the sizes required for the project.
Once the budget is agreed then we move to sampling for approval.
